Inbox zero that stays zero

NowStack inbox zero is proprietary clearance: HITL cards on Command Center, classified threads written out of Gmail INBOX, leftovers stamped back onto the feed. Not unread-count theater.

Unified inbox
Unified inbox with internal notes and guest threads visually distinct

Email inbox-zero HITL lives on The Now — not in a second Smart Inbox drawer. Comms is the thread workspace. Command Center is where you clear. Agents draft. People approve before a reply leaves the building. Internal notes stay visually distinct from guest threads.

Zero unread. A hundred decisions still waiting.

Mark-all-read is a costume. The thread is still sitting in INBOX. The draft is still in your head. Next week the same pile is back because nothing was classified.

A second inbox product does not stay zero. It stays open. Unread is a badge, not a system.

Proprietary inbox zero here means the live Gmail set and the workspace agree — and every leftover still has a card.

How it works

  1. 01

    Mail becomes a card

Inbound threads land as HITL cards on Command Center. Reply, create a task, or archive — often with a draft.

  2. 02

    You decide

Approve, edit the draft, or skip. Classified threads leave Gmail INBOX. Unread is not the metric.

  3. 03

    It stays zero

Leftover inbox rows can stamp as pending cards. A reconcile walk compares live Gmail threads to the workspace.

What is proprietary about this inbox zero?

Command Center
Command Center feed with human-in-the-loop approval cards

Clearance is a decision table, not a swipe. Live Gmail threads (inbox, not spam, not trash) are compared to the workspace. Pending inbound cards stay on Command Center. Classified archive and ignore are written out of Gmail INBOX so zero means zero.

Leftover inbox rows can stamp as pending create-task cards — no model call required for the stamp. A weekly reconcile walk compares Gmail’s live set to Postgres. Unread is not an input.

Header rules short-circuit only unambiguous non-work (OOO, bounces, obvious bulk). Everything else waits for a person. That is the product, not a dashboard named inbox zero.

  • HITL on The Now, not a second drawer
  • Classified threads leave Gmail INBOX
  • Leftovers stamp back onto the feed
  • Unread is not the metric

Where do I actually work mail?

Approve on Command Center. Read and reply in Comms when you need the thread. Internal notes stay off guest views. Email-channel comments can leave the building — that is why the yes still sits on The Now.

Connect Gmail at integrations. The hub is the OS. Inbox zero is the clearance loop, not a renamed Command Center.

  • Cards on Command Center
  • Threads in Comms
  • Internal vs guest, visually distinct
  • Agents draft. People approve.
